I purchased these for writing on marshmallows and they worked perfectly. I would imagine they would be good on any slightly porous surface - like a sugar cookie.

if I could give these no stars I would! I have tried writing on cookies, both frosted and unfrosted and neither worked! They would just leave dents in the frosting. I am not sure if any of the other Wilton markers are any better, but if they are anything like these they are not worth the money!!!! I just purchased the Betty crocker food markers and I love them!!!! If they would come in more colors I would buy them in a heartbeat!!!!!!!

I tried to use these markers to draw faces on molded chocolate. The markers did not work at all. No ink would stay on the chocolate. I'm not sure what the purpose of a food writer is if you can not write on food. The packaging makes it out to seem as though they will work on most anything. This is not the case.
